I feel deeply blessed and grateful that the BC Hazara Community Society is organizing a book launch for my book, The Flowers of Your Pains, on International Women’s Day 2026. This meaningful event will take place on March 8 at the Tommy Douglas Library in Burnaby, bringing together community members, writers, and advocates to honor stories of resilience, healing, and transformation. To have my words recognized and celebrated on a day dedicated to the rights, justice, and empowerment of women and girls makes this moment even more special.

It means so much to have my community support me and honor my story. As someone who began writing from a place of pain, displacement, and longing, I never imagined that those private words would one day be shared publicly and embraced collectively. This event is not only a book launch, it is a celebration of survival, voice, and belonging. I am especially honored that respected speakers, including Dr. Gary Geddes, Dr,Lauryn Oates, Sediqa Temori, and Selam Gebremeskel, will be part of this gathering, sharing their reflections and supporting this journey.

This moment reminds me that healing does not happen in isolation, it happens in community. It happens when stories are shared, when voices are uplifted, and when pain is transformed into something meaningful. I hope this gathering becomes not only a celebration of my book, but also a reminder to others that their stories matter, their voices matter, and that even from the deepest wounds, flowers can grow.
